Police are appealing for information following a shooting in New Malden that has left a man in critical condition.

Officers, alongside the London Ambulance Service, were called to Newhouse Close in New Malden at 1.40am this morning (Friday) following reports of a shooting and found a man suffering from a gunshot injury.

He was taken to hospital immediately for treatment and remains in critical but stable condition.

No arrests of yet have been made as enquires into the circumstances are ongoing.

Anyone with information has been asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD422/10Feb.

Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously 0800 555 111.

This morning's incident marks a concerning rise of crime in Kingston within the last few months. Just last week, a man in his 50s was rushed to hospital after being stabbed on Deacon Road.
