Kingston Police are appealing for information following a man jumping from Kingston Bridge this afternoon in a potential suicide attempt.

Officers were called to the scene just after midday with reports of a 43-year-old male floating in the Thames after jumping from Kingston Bridge.

Police with the assistance of a Kingston riverside boat, rescued the man from the river who was treated by the London Ambulance Service and taken to Kingston Hospital for further treatment.

Issuing an appeal for information, Kingston police took to Facebook saying: "On Thursday 27th October 2022, at 12:40 hours, a report of a 43 year old male floating in the River Thames after having jumped off Kingston Bridge in an apparent suicide attempt.

"Police with the assistance of a Kingston riverside boat operator rescued the male from the river. LAS attended and treated the male at the scene.

"Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to call 101 and quote CAD reference 3361 of 27th October 2022. Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers or contact fearless.org."

Just last month (September 25), a man who had left his personal belongings on Kingston Bridge tragically died after jumping into the Thames, despite being recovered from the river by RNLI and swiftly taken to hospital and treated by emergency services.
