Person dies on tracks near Surbiton Station

Three fire engines and police cars as well as two ambulances were called to an incident on the tracks near Surbiton Station last night (Tuesday, 10 June).

A person was announced dead at the scene.

All rail services from the station were cancelled last night after around 10.30pm.

A Hampton Court train was held outside of the station.

A British Transport Police spokesperson told Kingston Nub News: "Officers were called to the line near Surbiton railway station at around 10.30pm last night (10 June) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
