A local Palestine Solidarity Campaign Group is hosting a divest debate with Kingston Council tomorrow (Tuesday, 8 July).

Richmond & Kingston Palestine Solidarity Group is asking locals to join it from 6.30pm – 9pm at the Guildhall on Tuesday in lobbying the council to divest from complicit companies in the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

The group has also created a petition, which has already been signed by over 1,500 Kingstonians, demanding that the council divest the £60m "it has currently invested in companies complicit in Israeli apartheid & genocide".

You can sign up for the protest here.

Richmond & Kingston Palestine Solidarity Group said: "If you live in Kingston upon Thames but you can't join us, follow the link anyway and email your councillors so they know you want them to pass divestment on Tuesday.

"We are so close, we just need you. Thank you for your support!! Together, we can make a change."

Kingston Council have been contacted for comment.
