Outdoor seating could arrive at Kingston cake shop
By Eleni Barrett 16th Oct 2026
A UK-based cake business, which has a shop on Castle Street in Kingston, could get a new outdoor seating area.
CakeCo, which opened its Kingston branch in the site of the former Oxfam store back in March, is seeking permission from Kingston Council to place furniture directly outside the shop and create an outdoor seating area.
The proposed pavement furniture includes two outdoor tables with each table having four chairs around it, for the purpose of consuming food and drink.
Should its application be approved, CakeCo hopes to operate its new outdoor seating area from 10am - 10pm Monday through Saturday, and from 10am - 9pm on Sundays.
Residents have until 27 October to submit representations for this application and can do so here.
