Kingston Choral Society looks for lower voice singers to help with its 75th anniversary celebrations
New Year is traditionally a time for austerity when many of us grimly sign up to post-Christmas diet regimes. But for Kingston Choral Society (KCS) New Year 2025 will be a jubilee season.
March 2025 marks 75 years since KCS gave their first performance of Handel's Messiah.
It's a major milestone, and KCS will be celebrating in style with a concert on 29 March at one of London's leading venues, Cadogan Hall.
KCS Musical Director, Andrew Griffiths has juxtaposed Brahms's sublime German Requiem and Poulenc's spirited Gloria.
KCS' Chair, Debbie Lye, said: "This mouth-watering programme will be thrilling for singers and audience alike. KCS performed frequently at Cadogan Hall in the decade before the pandemic.
"That set us back and we lost members. We are now thriving again, although with many more soprano and alto singers than tenors and basses.
"And so we are offering lower voice part singers a unique chance to join us in January for one term only at a special rate of £60 to swell the tenor and bass ranks at Cadogan Hall."
This concert will be a fantastic opportunity to sing exhilarating music in a wonderful setting alongside two of the finest soloists in the country, baritone Roderick Williams and soprano Sophie Bevan.
So, this coming January, why not make a new year resolution that will give you tons of pleasure,?
