New Korean restaurant officially opens in Kingston

A new Korean restaurant, Korea Hero, officially opened its doors on Saturday, 5 April, after delays in its initial opening.
The restaurant has replaced Riverside Vegetaria on 64 High Street.
Korea Hero's diners can enjoy 30% off everything for the next three weeks if they follow Korea Hero on Instagram here.
The restaurant, which dubs itself as "Kingston's first riverside Korean restaurant", brings "authentic home-cooked flavours," says owner Linda.
At Korea Hero, every meal is inspired by the K-Tray, a modern take on Korea's traditional home dining experience.
K-Tray represents the perfect balance of flavours, textures, and nutrition, featuring a comforting main dish, a variety of freshly prepared side dishes (Banchan), and steaming hot soup.
Korea Hero's side dishes, carefully crafted by its chef, are complimentary with every meal, just like in a traditional Korean home.
The restaurant's menu features a diverse range of Korean comfort food, including sizzling Bulgogi (marinated beef), spicy stir-fried pork, Jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), Bibimbap (mixed rice with vegetables and protein), and Kimchi Jjigae (spicy kimchi stew).
Whether you're craving something hearty and warming or bold and spicy, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Unlike fusion-style Korean restaurants, Korea Hero is fully owned and operated by Koreans, with an expert Korean chef bringing authentic flavours to Kingston.
The restaurant's mission is to introduce locals to the heart of Korean cuisine- wholesome, flavourful, and deeply rooted in tradition, offering a taste of real home-cooked Korean meals.
This exciting new addition to Kingston's diverse food scene is run by Linda, who also owns Sushi Hero in Surbiton.
Linda said: "Korea Hero is more than just a restaurant - it's a cultural bridge, welcoming the Kingston community to experience authentic Korean flavours, tradition, and hospitality."
