New Kingston food court could sell alcohol
By Tilly O'Brien 19th Jun 2026
A new food court, which is set to open on Kingston's Clarence Street this summer, could also sell alcohol.
Terminal Kingston, which will replace the United Colours of Benetton store, has submitted a licensing application to the council, seeking permission to sell alcohol from its indoor bar.
If the application is approved, applicant KT1 Operations Ltd hopes to sell alcohol within the food court from 11am - 11pm seven days a week.
In an application document, the applicant described Kingston Terminal as a "food court with many different food choices, with seating provided and a bar inside the premises".
To keep in line with the council's four licensing objectives, KT1 Operations Ltd says that it will have a strict Challenge 25 policy implemented, have CCTV and 31 days recording installed, and will train all staff on responsible alcohol retailing.
The new food court will serve a variety of world cuisines including Indian, Korean, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and more.
Once opened, Kingston Terminal's operating hours are set to be from 11am - 11.30pm seven days a week.
Local residents have until 14 July to submit representations for this application and can do so here.
