A new café opened in Kingston on Saturday (5 July).

Nino, which is owned by Kingston-resident Berna, is located in the pavilion on Fairfield Recreation Ground.

Speaking about why she chose to open a café on Fairfield, Berna told Nub News that she has lived in the local area for years and would always bring her kids to play on the grounds. Thus, she has always wanted to open a café there as she felt the location needed one.

"My kids grew up in this location," she said.

Nino is Berna's first café, so opening it is a "dream come true", she says.

Nino sells a variety of hot and iced coffees, teas, smoothies, and hot chocolate as well as soft drinks and baked goods homemade by Berna.

I would definitely recommend trying Berna's homemade gluten free chocolate brownie cookie; it is delicious and has the perfect mix of the gooiness you get in brownies and crumbliness of a cookie.

Berna has also set up an outdoor seating area on the patio of the pavilion – perfect for a sunny day like today.
