KINGSTON has had a bumper crop of nominations in the annual Time & Leisure awards 2022 which aim to recognise the best food, drink and cultural experiences across South West London and Surrey.

21 restaurants, retailers, venues and community projects in the borough have been shortlisted for awards.

It comes after two difficult years for the hospitality and entertainment industries which suffered cancelled events and closed shops due to the pandemic.

The winners, highly commended and commended nominees will be revealed on 28 January.

Readers of the luxury lifestyle magazine showed their support for the high street and local independents and Nub News readers will recognise many of the names below.

Out of Kingston borough, newcomer The Hideaway scooped the most nominations, with an impressive four for the Surbiton brunch spot.

The riverside restaurant has an enviable riverside location at Thames Ditton Marina and received nods for Best Newcomer, Best Al Fresco Dining, Best Service, and Local Restaurant of the Year.

Hot on its heels, The Rose Theatre was the second most nominated, having been shortlisted for Cultural Experience of the Year, Favourite Entertainment Venue and Favourite Theatre Show for Leopards.
