A mmicro pub and beer shop in Kingston could expand its outdoor seating area.

7,000 Jars of Beer, which is located on Crown Passage, is seeking the council's permission to add additional tables and chairs in front of its shop.

The shop, which describes itself as "both Public House, wine bar or other drinking establishment", hopes to have seven tables (up from two) and 14 chairs in its outdoor seating area for the purpose of consuming food or drink.

If the application is approved, the outdoor seating area will operate from 11am - 6pm on Mondays, 11am - 9.30pm Tuesday through Friday, 10am - 9.30pm on Saturdays, and 10am - 7.30pm on Sundays.

Residents have until 30 September to submit representations for this application and can do so here.

7,000 Jars of Beer opened in 2017 under owners Kieth and Susie Statham.

The business was later sold to a man called Guran; however, the current owner, Philos Schauerman, took over last year after Guran died of cancer.
