Man who threatened to kill partner jailed after trial in Kingston
A man from Richmond who strangled his partner and threatened her with knives has been jailed.
Christopher Malone, 44, was found guilty of Threats to Kill and Actual Bodily harm at Kingston Crown Court last week.
He committed the offences in May this year when police were called to his address to reports of screaming and banging.
Malone's victim told officers he had pointed two kitchen knives at her, pulled her by her hair, and strangled her.
He was arrested and taken into custody, then charged and remanded.
Following a trial at Kingston Crown Court on 24 November, Malone was found guilty of the offences.
He was sentenced to three and a half years in prison, made up of two and a half years for the Threats to Kill and a year for Actual Bodily Harm, served consecutively.
DC Charlie Jones, the officer in this case, said: "This was an excellent result, and I hope it can reassure the public that we will tenaciously investigate violence against women and girls at the hands of dangerous and predatory offenders."
