Man taken to hospital with head injury following assault in Surbiton

A man was taken to hospital with a head injury following reports of an assault in Surbiton.
The Metropolitan Police was alerted to the incident at the junction of Victoria Road and St James Road just before 8.35am yesterday morning (Tuesday, 28 April).
Officers were dispatched to the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, with London's Air Ambulance also in attendance on Victoria Park.
A man in his 50s was found suffering a head injury and was taken to a major trauma centre by road.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told Nub News: "We were called at 8.40am yesterday (28 April) to reports of a person injured on Victoria Road, Surbiton.
"We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a paramedic in a fast response car. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.
"We treated a patient for a head injury and took them to a major trauma centre by road."
A spokesperson for the Met added: "At around 08:34hrs on Tuesday, 28 April, officers were called to reports of an assault at the junction of Victoria Road and St. James Road, Surbiton.
"Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance and located a man in his 50s with injuries. He was taken to hospital where his injuries have been deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing.
"A second man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. He has since been released on bail.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 1584/28APR or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
