Kingston non-profit The Community Brain is celebrating the borough's motoring history with a Mini Cooper-themed installation at a local garden festival.

The display, called 'Mini Moments', is part of the organisation's 60th anniversary celebrations for the Monte Carlo-winning Mini Cooper, which was designed just one mile away nearby Surbiton.

The interactive and informative exhibit features flowers planted in three model Minis in the famous 'Italian Job' colours.

In a Facebook post yesterday, 1 July, The Community Brain offered "the biggest thank you to everyone who makes this possible," extending its gratitude to its volunteers, Kingston College, Kingston School of Art, Kingston Council, 121 Collective, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund

'Mini Moments' will be displayed at the Hampton Court Garden Festival from today, 2 July, until Saturday 7 July, to honour both its famous rally victory, and the Mini Cooper itself.

As part of the festival, Royal Horticultural Society will host a variety of talks, exhibits, food and music throughout the week in a classic English summer garden party in the palace's historic grounds.

Community Brain is a non-profit organisation that champions local culture and sustainability through their exciting and imaginative events

The group has spent much of the year celebrating the Mini Cooper, with the recent 'Mini Moments Festival Mini Day' in May seeing 60 classic Minis paraded through central Kingston.
