Lidl officially opens its doors to new store in Kingston
Supermarket giant Lidl opened the doors to its latest store in Kingston yesterday morning (January 19).
The move will be welcomed by residents across the borough who have been waiting patiently for the highly- anticipated opening of the Kingston branch which has taken over the site of the former Wickes.
Keen shoppers benefitted from a range of exclusive deals during the store's official opening day which will last throughout the first week including a Bread Maker for £24.99 today, Friday 20 January and a Bluetooth Speaker for just £9.99 on Saturday, January 21st.
Located on Gordon Road, just a few minutes walk from London Road in Norbiton, the new store will also come as a coup for students based at the nearby Kingston School of Art and Kingston University.
Kingston Lidl's opening hours will be between 7am – 10pm on Monday to Saturday and 11am – 5pm on Sunday, providing locals with convenient access to Lidl's produce at affordable rates.
Lidl GB's Regional Head of Property, Max Clapton, said: "We've received overwhelming support from those in the local area throughout and would like to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering this new store.
"As many continue to tighten their belts to save money, residents will be able to see that they don't have to compromise on quality when shopping with us."
The Kingston branch includes Lidl's popular in store bakery as well as baby changing facilities and parking for cars and bicycles.
Founded in Germany, Lidl is the sixth largest supermarket chain in the UK with 949 stores, 776 of which are located in England.
