TEDx returns to Kingston next week at the Rose Theatre and there is still time to purchase your tickets for the day-long event, striving to bring the borough together through a series of live talks and performances.

The independently organised TED event will take place on Saturday April 30 and will run from midday to 7pm, with the Rose Theatre opening its doors to members of the public from 11am.

'Life finds a Way' is the theme for the 2022 event and will consist of 12 TEDx talks split into three sections throughout the day.

Liam Rogers, Director at TEDxKingstonUponThames said: "If there's one thing the history of evolution has taught us, it's that life will not be contained. Life breaks free, it expands to new territories, and crashes through barrier painfully, maybe even dangerously, but, uh, well there it is.

"Life, uh, finds a way."

He added: "Life-changing events happen to people every single day. We've all been in situations where we can say to ourselves, 'my life will never be the same again.' Whether wonderful or devastating, by design or accident, life finds a way to surprise, challenge and disrupt.

"Life finds a Way is the theme for our 2022 event and we can't wait to share 12 incredible TEDx talks with you."

Part one of the day includes talks and performances from: Owen O'Kane (Bombs, Bullets, Bullying and a Piano), Natasha Donovan (Breaking Bad News), Aiden Bex (Brandy Bex – The Joys of Nursing), Dr Douglas Vakoch (Embracing Uncertainty: Searching for Life beyond Earth) and Michael Maisey (Uncaged: From Prison to Purpose).

Part two from 3pm will include: Ali Hendry (Survivor's Guide to Jealousy), Rob and Chantel Emery (One Day At a Time), Alex Hall, Jamie Brown (The Language of Location) and Hazel Thompson (Beyond The Story: Exposing Trafficking, Slavery & Injustice Through Her Lens).

Part three from 5pm will conclude the event with: Simone Sistarelli (Turning a Symptom into a Superpower), Tanya Obeng (Unconscious Bias: The Limitation of Labels), Charlie George, Shelley Bridgman (Dare To Be You) and Jamie Klingler (Reclaim Yourself: The Most Valuable Investment You Will Ever Make).
