DO you know someone making a positive difference in Kingston?

Nominations are now open for the Mayor of Kingston's Community Awards 2022, which celebrate our residents who have given up their time to help other people and the community.

The Mayor would also like to present a special 'Young Person' Community Award, for young people under the age of 21 who are carrying out inspiring work in their local area.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm, Tuesday 27 January.

Councillor Sushila Abraham, the Mayor of Kingston, said: "Since becoming Mayor, I have been struck by the number of inspiring people in Kingston who give up their time to support those around them - particularly throughout the challenges of the last 12 months.

"Here is a chance to celebrate that incredible community spirit that we are so proud of. I call on you, the residents of Kingston, to nominate your peers who deserve recognition for their achievement, strength or bravery."

Find out more details about the Community Awards, including nomination criteria, and submit nominations here.

The Community Awards ceremony will take place at 12pm on Wednesday 2 March, in the Council Chamber at the Guildhall.
