Kingston Council's Adult Social Care Services have been rated 'Good' following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors highlighted the strong and supportive workplace culture across Adult Social Care and Health teams, where staff feel valued, confident in their roles and are well led.

The report praised Kingston's focus on prevention and helping people live independently, including short-term support to help people regain everyday skills after illness or injury, linking people with community groups and activities to improve their wellbeing and developing locally tailored plans to join up services.

These findings were informed by feedback from residents, carers, staff and partners.

The inspection, which took place in February 2025 under the CQC's updated assessment framework, reviewed how well the council is delivering its responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, including how residents are listened to and supported to live safe, healthy and independent lives.

Councillor Hamed, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Equalities, said:"This rating from the CQC is a reflection of the outstanding dedication of Kingston's Adult Social Care and Health teams, and the strength of our partnerships.

"This result is a key part of our ambition to build a fairer and safer Kingston for all, where people receiving care and support, and their carers, get the care and respect they deserve. We will continue working together with our partners and communities to make a positive difference."
