The Waterstones in the Bentall Centre is hosting a midnight launch party for the release of Rebecca Yarros' book Onyx Storm on Monday, 20 January.

The evening will include tote bag making, a quiz for fans about the Empyrean universe, friendship bracelet making and a raffle with prizes to be one by those attending.

A Kingston Waterstones spokesperson said: "We're thrilled to be hosting this launch to celebrate the publication of Rebecca Yaros' newest instalment to the Empyrean series - Onyx Storm."

Fourth Wing themed cocktails and mocktails will be served throughout the evening before midnight when the new release will be available to purchase.

Yarros is best known for her Empyrean series after she released the first book, Fourth Wing, in April 2023.

Iron Flame, the second book in the series was then released in October 2023.

Onyx Storm is the third and final book in the fantasy-romance Empyrean universe.

The series follows the female protagonist Violet Sorrengail and the relationship between dragons and humans.

Some of the major themes explored in the series include romance, fantasy, family conflict and war.

In 2023, Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society gained the rights for an on-screen adaption of the novels into a Empyrean television series. Yarros will be the executive producer for the series.

Yarros published her debut novel Full Measures in 2014 as part of the Fight and Glory book series.
