Kingston Walking Football Club (KWFC) incorporated a 'Football in the Community' event at the annual Celebrate Chessington Fete, held at Churchfields Recreation Ground on Thursday, 28 May.
KWFC provided a few activities, including a white-lined mini pitch with five-a-side goals for regular small-sided games.
It also hosted a mini-target goal for the younger children and 'Beat the Goalkeeper' for all ages who were able to take a Penalty.
RBK's 'Active Kingston' provided a large Gazebo to allow KWFC to display its trophy.
KWFC's Manager Peter Yiannakou says the club "had a great response with the public attending the event, and all activities were very busy".
He added: "It was great to see people from the ages of two to 82 taking part."
KWFC's kit sponsor, GallifordTry PLC, and the new Mayor of Kingston attended the event.
Speaking about the day, the Mayor Kingston, Councillor Thay Thayalan, said: "I thoroughly enjoyed attending the Celebrate Chessington event and was delighted to have the opportunity to look around the many stalls and speak with so many local residents, volunteers and community organisations.
"The number of stalls and the attendance have clearly increased over the years, which is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in organising the event. It was wonderful to see such a vibrant community spirit on display.
"I also met many current and former councillors who were volunteering at the event. Former Councillor Patricia Bamford kindly showed me around the stalls, which I very much appreciated."
He added: "As requested, I made a point of visiting the Kingston Walking Football Club stall. "It was a pleasure to meet Peter Yanniannakou and the team members. I enjoyed chatting with them about the club's achievements and the positive impact walking football has on participants and the wider community.
"I passed on my congratulations to Kingston Walking Football Club on their well-deserved Sports Team of the Year award and my thanks to Galliford Try for their generous support of the club.
"Unfortunately, I was unable to take a penalty as the pitch had not yet been set up at the time of my visit.
"Thank you again for your warm wishes and for all that you do to support the local community."
