Kingston University warn students of impact University College Union (UCU) strike action from Monday 25 to Friday 29 September.

Just after 'Freshers Week', the news comes as many students start the academic year and begin their higher education journey.

A statement from Kingston University said: "Many of our staff don't belong to UCU and some who do may choose not to strike. This means most of [the students] will probably see no, or very little, impact.

"At the moment, we don't know how many staff are planning to get involved in this industrial action as they're not required to tell us in advance."

Teaching is assumed to take place as normal, with the university encouraging students to attend and engage with all scheduled teaching, laboratories and workshops unless told otherwise by their Department.

Libraries, social learning spaces and food outlets will all remain open throughout this period.

The university added: "While this action is part of a national dispute about pay and conditions and can't be resolved by individual universities, we've been meeting regularly with our UCU branch representatives. We'll continue to do so throughout the coming period."
