Detectives investigating an alleged rape in Kingston have charged a teenager this morning.

The 17-year-old was charged (28th July) with one count of rape, one count of robbery, one count of possession of a Class B drug and two counts of fraud.

He will appear in custody at Stratford Magistrates Court later on today.

The teenagers appearance in court relates to a call police received on Saturday, 23rd July, in which allegations were reported of rape that had occurred in the churchyard of Kingston Market Place.

Officers continue to provide support to a woman aged in her 50's.
