Kingston strip club could continue to offer sexual entertainment
By Tilly O'Brien 22nd Mar 2026
A sex establishment in Kingston has submitted a licence renewal application to the council.
Stir 777, which is located on Kingston's High Street, is seeking the council's permission to continue operating from 20pm - 3am Monday through Thursday and until 5am on Fridays and Saturdays as well as New Year's Eve.
It will be closed on Sundays.
To prevent the interior of the premises being visible to passers-by, Stir 777ltd says it will keep its lobbied front door and keep its second and third floors nonvisible from outside.
The venue first opened its doors in Kingston in 2018 and won permission to operate until 5am on weekends and to extend its closing time from 2.30am - 3am Mondays through Wednesdays back in April 2024.
At the time, the licencing committee's ruling read: "The police had not objected, the change in the capacity of the premises also indicated that there would be a reduced number of patrons, which also persuaded the licensing committee that the premises was being properly run and would continue to be so."
The 2024 licence approval from the council also meant that the club had to reduce its capacity from 220 to 65.
Residents have until 7 April to submit representations for this application and can do so here.
