Kingston Grammar School boasts over 41% of awarded GCSE grades were grade 9, with 90% of all grades given being grade 7 or above.

The strong set of results from the independent private school exceed 2019 grades following the decision by the government and Ofqual to return results to pre- pandemic levels.

Head of Fifth Year Amy Hicks said: "I am thrilled that this delightful year group have achieved such fantastic results. It was a pleasure to be their Head of Year and I look forward to teaching many of them over the next two years."

Particular congratulations go to 14 students: Sophie Bailey, Gina Saltykova and Florian Young achieved a clean sweep of grade 9s across all their subjects: Sophie was awarded a truly outstanding 13, with Gina and Florian each achieving 11.

Joshua Cassidy, Noah Dyson, Sebastian Cockerell and Charlotte Comard all received 10 grade 9s, whilst Judah Brackin, Natalie Ivory, Priyam Patel, Josephine Roux, Aidan Seymour, Madeleine Sloan and Emily Smith were all awarded nine at the highest grade.

Head Master Stephen Lehec commented: "This group of young people have not only worked incredibly hard and fulfilled their academic potential but have done so whilst leading rich and diverse co-curricular lives, engaging in competitive sport, music, drama, Duke of Edinburgh, mentoring and volunteering.

"They should be incredibly proud of their achievements, and I look forward to welcoming them into Sixth Form where I know they will continue to thrive and be valued senior members of the KGS community."
