60 of the world's rarest cars came to Hampton Court Palace for the annual UK Concours of Elegance last weekend.

The historic vehicle display included classic models of Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar and Aston Martin from years dating back to 1907.

A total of 1,000 cars were showcased at the event which is billed as the top concours in the UK and one of the three finest in the world.

The festival began on Friday 3 September with a parade of 95 cars, one for each year from 1926, in honour of the Queen's 95th birthday.

Several special events were put on for 2021, including a 'cars of the future' exhibition and a celebration of 60 years of the Jaguar E-Type.

Luxury abounded at the event as presenter and model Jodie Kidd took to the stage to conduct interviews, guests were provided with champagne and picnics from Fortnum and Mason, and timepieces by A. Lange & Söhne went on display.

While the event attracts crowds from across the UK, some local residents took advantage of the location and went along to see the classy chassis.

Hampton resident Lesley who tweets as @LesleyAM13 posted a glowing review of her visit.

"The #ConcoursofElegance at #HamptonCourtPalace yesterday had some stunning, historical cars,"she wrote.

"1973 Porche 911 Carrera RSR; 1937 Phantom III, Field Marshall Montgomery's personal car; 1953 Silver Wraith used by Grace Kelly at her wedding & 1932 Alfa Romeo P3 Tipo B"

She added: "It's a fantastic event for car lovers, there are cars from the beginning of time right through to future classics!

"I definitely gravitated towards the older classics esp the '50's Ferraris, '60's E-Type Jaguars and '70's Porches."
