A man from Kingston is currently walking 31 miles to raise funds for Greenpeace.

Remi Got is raising money for Greenpeace by walking 31 miles to help protect nature, wildlife, and habitats.

Speaking about the challenge, Remi said: "Living in Kingston, I've seen how green spaces are under pressure, and I believe actions—big or small—can make a difference.

"The money raised will go directly to Greenpeace's nature conservation work: helping restore ecosystems, protect endangered species, and support campaigns for better environmental protection.

"Over the next few weeks, I'll post updates about my progress, share photos along the way, and show what even one person's efforts can do when others support."

In an exclusive interview with Nub News, Remi said he has "always loved" being outdoors, especially hill walking and hiking.

He added: "It's where I feel most at home and inspired. Whether it's wandering along quiet trails, discovering new views, or just soaking up the peaceful sounds of nature, those moments remind me why protecting our planet is so important to me.

"That's also why I've found myself drawn to raising funds for environmental groups like WWF and Greenpeace. I really believe in the work they're doing and want to help keep wild places and animals safe for the future. Fundraising is my way of giving back—plus, it's a great reason to get moving and set myself new challenges."

Remi hopes to raise £150 for Greenpeace as part of his "31 miles for nature" challenge.

He said: "I've actually ended up tracking more miles than I first planned and knowing that every step will help make a difference really keeps me motivated. Greenpeace relies totally on supporters, so it feels good to know that my local efforts are joining thousands of others around the world.

"I hope sharing my story might encourage more people in the community to get outside, enjoy nature, and think about how we can all help protect what we love.

"A funny thing is, walking the miles has turned out to be the easy bit—even though I've set myself a challenge to try walking over 130 miles for this!

"What's actually tough is getting people to support the fundraising side. I'm putting in the steps every day, sharing updates, and reaching out, but it's been much more of a challenge drumming up donations than I expected.

"I know everyone's got their own priorities right now, so every bit of encouragement or support means a lot and keeps me going."
