Kingston Library has today, Monday 2 November, reopened after it was closed last week due to "unforeseen but necessary" building maintenance.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kingston Council said that "a small part of the ceiling plaster at the library fell in", causing it to close.

On Wednesday 26 November, the day after the closure, the council updated residents about the closure on X, saying: "We are happy to confirm that the repairs have been now completed, but a further survey will be undertaken as a precaution to ensure this type of incident does not reoccur and that the building is safe for staff and residents to visit."
