Following news from Buckingham Palace yesterday evening that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had passed, Kingston Council has today set up numerous ways for members of the community to pay their respects.
A virtual Book of Condolences has been created for users to access who are less mobile, while there are also four locations across Kingston upon Thames for members to visit and leave written messages.
- Guildhall, High St, Kingston, KT1 1EU - Open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
- Surbiton Library, Ewell Road, Surbiton, KT6 6AG - open Monday and Tuesday (10am to 6pm), Thursday and Friday (10am to 6pm) and Saturday (10am to 5pm). Closed on Wednesday and Sunday.
- New Malden Library, Kingston Road, New Malden, KT3 3LY - open Monday and Tuesday (10am to 6pm), Thursday and Friday (10am - 6pm) and Saturday (10am to 5pm). Closed on Wednesday and Sunday.
- Hook and Chessington Library, Hook Centre, Hook Road, Chessington, KT9 1EJ - open Tuesday - Friday (10am to 6pm) and Saturday (10am to 5pm). Closed on Sunday and Monday.
For those wishing to lay a floral tribute to mark The Queen's passing, there are a number of ways you are able to do so:
Memorial Gardens or the site of the Coronation Stone by the Guildhall in Kingston.
In New Malden at the War Memorial or the Jubilee Square.
Surbiton's War Memorial or Claremont Gardens with wreaths able to be placed near the Clock Tower.
For those south of the borough, residents are able to visit the Chessington War Memorial on Church Lane or Hook Community Centre.
