Kingston hotel could start hosting indoor live events

A hotel in Kingston could start hosting indoor live events.

Warren House Hotels Limited has submitted an application seeking permission to host films, sporting events, live and recorded music, and dance performances from 10am to midnight Monday through Saturday and from 12pm to midnight on Sundays inside its hotel on Warren Road.

It also hopes to provide late night refreshments during these indoor events from 11pm to midnight seven days a week and to sell or supply alcohol on the premises from 10am to midnight Monday through Saturday and from 12pm on Sundays. 

Speaking about its application to provide late night refreshments, the hotel said: "Late night refreshments may be provided within the internal areas of the premises in connection with hotel operations, including the provision of hot food or hot drinks to hotel residents and guests attending private functions, weddings, conferences and other events."

And for its application to sell or supply alcohol, it said: "Alcohol will be supplied for consumption on the premises in connection with the operation of the hotel including the bar, restaurant and function rooms. 

"Alcohol may be provided to hotel residents and guests attending weddings, conferences, private functions and other events.

"The supply of alcohol to bona fide residents of the hotel and persons staying overnight at the premises shall be permitted at any time."

Warren House is currently open from 10.30am - 12.30am Monday through Saturday and from 12pm on Sundays.

To keep in line with the council's licnsing objectives, Warren House said: "The premises will operate as a hotel and events venue and will be managed in a responsible manner to promote the licensing objectives. 

"Management and staff will take all reasonable steps to prevent crime and disorder, ensure public safety, prevent public nuisance and protect children from harm. 

"Staff will be trained in responsible alcohol retailing and customer management. The premises will operate appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Licensing Act 2003."

Residents have until 7 May to submit representations for this application and can do so here.
