A school in Kingston,is celebrating a "successful" GCSE results day today (Thursday, 20 August), particularly for one of its top students.

Southborough High School said it "is delighted to celebrate another year of exceptional GCSE achievements".

The school added: "Warmest congratulations to all of our students, whose hard work and dedication have been rewarded with well-deserved exam success.

"Among the many "outstanding" individual performances, student Alfie—a member of the prestigious Young Magicians' Club and the 2025 Young Close-Up Magician of the Year—really pulled something special out of the hat, so to speak, achieving a remarkable string of top Grade 9 results.

"Following his A Levels and university studies, Alfie plans to pursue a career as a professional magician."

"This spirit of excellence was reflected across the entire cohort. We extend our sincere gratitude to our parents, carers, teachers, and Support Staff, whose unwavering support enabled our students to achieve their full potential."

Sixth Form enrolment at Southborough High School also commenced on Thursday with strong demand and will continue on Wednesday, 2 September.

A Southborough High School spokesperson said: "This academic year, we are also proud to launch our new T Level in Management & Administration, a high-value qualification equivalent to three A Levels in size."
