Kingston Fire Brigade warns youngsters of dangers when playing on ice

Kingston Fire Brigade has today (Wednesday, 7 January) issued a warning to youngsters playing on ice across the borough following several calls about the matter.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kingston Fire Brigade said: "We have been called several times in the past days to young people playing on ice in the borough

"Frozen lakes, rivers, and ponds may look safe, but they're NOT. Ice can crack without warning, putting lives at serious risk."

On Tuesday (6 January), the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for this week across the country.
