When it comes to pupils sitting their A-Level exams with ambitions to secure a university place, for many, a spot at Oxford or Cambridge is a desired goal.

According to data from the Department of Education from the 2020/21 academic year, it has been revealed that state-funded schools and colleges in London have the highest acceptation rate of students getting into Oxbridge, with the third ranked featuring from Kingston.

Tiffins Girls' School located on Richmond Road, was founded in 1880 and currently has over 1,200 pupils who attend between the ages of 11 and 18. The school operates under a vision of providing 'an intellectually stimulating and outward-facing school, enabling students to flourish and contribute to society'.

The Kingston-based school saw 41 students accepted accepted to Oxbridge at the end of last term, beaten only by Kings College London Maths School, with just under a third of its pupils (29%) being accepted that year, and the Henrietta Barnet School and Queen Elizabeth's School - both in Barnet - who sat a joint second with 18% of pupils making it into Oxford or Cambridge.

Four of the top 10 school were located in London, with Tiffins Girls' School sitting above Colchester Royal Grammar School and Colchester County High School for Girls who had 14% of their students receive Oxbridge offers.
