With it being Sustainable September, Kingston Cycling Campaign (KCC) and Full Cycle are inviting residents of all ages to join them on the morning of Sunday, 21 September for their final, fun-packed FREE family-friendly ride of the year.

This time, the ride will be starting in Fairfield Recreation Ground (meeting by the park pavilion) and, as an added incentive to get on your bike, KCC says it has chosen that weekend as it is the eve of World Car Free Day too.

To help encourage residents to consider using a bike for local journeys, KCC has also arranged:

  • Full Cycle Community Bike Project will be on hand to help with some basic Dr Bike-style TLC before and after the event.
  • The local Police will be doing free bike registering on the day to help people keep their bikes secure.
  • Lime Bikes should be running a pop-up coffee morning with the newly opened Nino Cafe, offering drinks and pastries for participants, with Lime representatives talking about how their community cycling programmes and funding initiatives.

The easy-paced 6-mile ride will take in cycle-friendly routes along the river, through Surbiton and back via Berrylands to try to build people's cycling confidence and remind them how much fun cycling can be.

KCC said: "We hope this will help inspire more people cycle more, whether to school, the shops, work or just out and about".
