After much intervention, Kingston Cycling Campaign (KCC) has persuaded the council to repaint the bike logos on Old London Road (Cycleway 30).

The new logos are further away from the parking spaces on the road to help guide cyclists to ride away from the doors of parked cars, making it a little safer.

Speaking about the new logos, KCC's Matt Stephen told Kingston Nub: "During Old London Road's recent resurfacing, the cycle logos were moved closer to the vehicle parking bays, guiding people on bikes directly into the "dooring zone".

"We are grateful that the council responded to the risk we highlighted by replacing the signs in a more central position to encourage a safer riding position for people using this road to access Kingston town centre."
