A Kingston-based charity is set to launch a community café next to its warehouse this week.

Save the World Club will open its new community café next to its warehouse, located in 18 Southsea Road, this Friday (27 March) at 4pm and locals are invited join the charity for the official launch.

Speaking about the new café, Save the World Club's Tariq Shabbeer said: "We've turned an empty space into a community café that will feed, train and bring people together.

"After months of planning, building and community support, we've now installed our brand new Community Café space at Save The World Club — and we're busy getting everything ready behind the scenes.

"From setting up the kitchen to organising the space, it's coming together for something really special.

"We hope the café will be more than just coffee and cake, but a place to connect, share food, reduce waste and bring people together across Kingston."

The Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Noel Hadjimichael, will be at the opening on Friday.
