A bubble tea cafe in Kingston could get a new outdoor seating area.
Mooboo, which is located on Surbiton Road, has submitted a pavement license application to the council seeking permission to add an outdoor seating area on the pavement directly outside the venue.
The proposed area is located along the shop frontage, adjacent to and nearby the shop entrance, extending a short distance from the building line towards the curb, "while ensuring clear and unobstructed pedestrian access is maintained at all times," says applicant JMK Sushi Ltd.
The proposed outdoor seating area will operate from 11.30am - 7.30pm seven days a week and will be open for the purpose of selling and consuming food or drink.
It will consist of one round table and two chairs for customer use in connection with the consumption of drinks purchased from the premises.
Additionally, a removable A-board may be placed within or adjacent to the area for the display of menus and promotional materials, subject to any separate permissions required.
JMK Sushi LTD says that all "items will be of suitable commercial quality, uniform in appearance, and fully removable, and will be stored inside the premises outside of trading hours.
Residents have until Thursday, 2 April to submit representations on this application and can do so here.
