Kingston-based charity, Cocoon - Care After Care, will be hosting its ninth annual Christmas Day event for 50 care-experienced 18–25-year-olds.

Without this event, they would be spending the day alone as they do not have family to spend it with, according to Cocoon.

Young people who have grown up in care (foster care, children's homes, and supported lodgings) can be very isolated, and this is magnified at Christmas which is so much about family and togetherness. The guest list is full, and there are 30 volunteers hosting the day.

Now Cocoon needs to make sure it has enough presents to fill the present sacks and funds to pay for all the essentials.

Between 2 and 9 December, any donations made through Big Give will be doubled by Cocoon's match funding Christmas Challenge Campaign.

Outside of that week, donations can be made to the charity's JustGiving Page: Cocoon Christmas Day 2025 - JustGiving.

Any businesses or organisations that would like to make a charitable donation, can do so by emailing [email protected]

You can also buy a gift for one of Cocoon's clients through its Amazon wishlist.

Moreover, on Sunday, 21 December, the charity is hosting its "very special" community gift-wrapping day

Cocoon Christmas Day is hosted by Cocoon-Care After Care, a registered charity supporting care-experienced young adults across Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow boroughs.

Chief Executive Adriana Thomas said: "Community, kindness and connection are at the heart of everything we do, and our Christmas Day event is a very special way of showing care leavers in our community, who can often feel very isolated, that they are seen, valued and cared for.

"Every year we are blown away by the kindness and generosity of local people and businesses who come together to put on an incredible day for 50 very deserving young adults."
