A bakery chain in Kingston has permanently closed.

Wenzel's, which had a branch located on Clarence Street, has been forced to close the bakery due to its performance and future potential.

A Wenzel's spokesperson told Kingston Nub News: "We can confirm that our Kingston branch has been closed permanently.

"Store closures are always difficult decisions and follows a review of this specific site's performance and future potential.

"We continue to operate over 100 stores across the south of England with the nearest store to Kingston in Staines along with online deliveries to ensure our customers can continue to enjoy our delicious baked goods and treats.

"We'd like to thank our customers and team for their continued support."
