Kingston and Surbiton MP visits Kingston Fire Station

Earlier this month, Ed Davey MP visited Kingston Fire Station on Richmond Road.
The visit started with the MP for Kingston and Surbiton observing a traditional Roll Call of firefighters from stations across the borough of Kingston.
Following the Roll Call, Ed Davey sat down with trainee fire cadets to discuss what challenges are faced by firefighters and fire cadets.

After speaking with the Fire Cadets and Firefighters, the Liberal Democrat leader was introduced to the Fire Brigade's new water safety initiative, by receiving a demonstration of the brand-new river flume tank, which shows how water behaves in rivers.
During the visit to the Fire Station, Ed Davey was invited to go up Southwest London's 64 metre Turntable Ladder, the highest ladder in service across Europe.
The new Turntable Ladder is part of the changes the Brigade has made since 2017 to improve the response to high-rise fires and enable firefighters to provide better service to the people of Kingston and Surbiton.
Following the visit to the Fire Station, Kingston and Surbiton MP Ed Davey said: "I had an absolutely fantastic time at the Kingston Fire Station on Richmond Road; from getting to speak to the Fire Cadets and Firefighters to hearing about the amazing work they do, to getting to go up the tallest turntable ladder in Europe!
"On behalf of everyone in Kingston and Surbiton, thank you to all firefighters and fire cadets who are doing amazing work to keep us all safe."
