Kingston and Surbiton MP, Ed Davey visits the Health and Social Care Hub at Kingston College

On Thursday 23 January, Kingston and Surbiton MP, Ed Davey, received a tour of the new Health and Social Care Hub at Kingston College.  

 During the tour of the new Health and Social Care Hub, Ed Davey got to see the new mock hospital ward, home care setting and received a demonstration of the Metaverse technology in the Virtual Reality teaching space.

 While touring around the new teaching facilities, Ed Davey had the opportunity to speak with several students: Jodie, a former young carer, and Huda, who began her career in a care home at the age of 16.

As well as Jodie and Huda, Ed Davey was joined by College Principal John O'Shea, Vice Principal Charlotte Veale, Head of School Amanda Morrison and tutor and registered nurse Abdullah.

 Following the tour, Kingston and Surbiton MP, Ed Davey, said: "I had the opportunity to see the brand-new Health and Social Care Hub at Kingston College. 

 "It was amazing to speak with students, who travel far and wide to get practical, hands-on experience in the mock hospital ward and the care home setting in the Hub. 

 "These facilities are a great addition to an already great school."

Speaking to Kingston Nub about the facilities, Ed Davey MP said that he met with a student from North London who wanted to find a course that enabled students to experience social care in realistic settings, and Kingston College was the only place she could find that offered this.
