Kingston and Surbiton MP Ed Davey received his COVID-19 vaccination today.

The Liberal Democrat leader and the area's MP since 1997 (apart from between 2015-17) tweeted the news.

He said: "Huge thanks to NHS teams across Kingston and the whole country working tirelessly to roll out the vaccine.

As a carer, I was jabbed this morning. If you're one of the 10m people caring for a loved one, make sure your GP knows you're a carer."

Mr Davey, 55, cares for his son, John, who has an undiagnosed neurological condition.

He has previously told the Mirror that being a carer has been 'the biggest challenge of his life.'

More and more people continue to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in our area.

South West London currently leads the way for percentage of people vaccinated in London.
