Kingston advocate uses pageant platform to raise awareness of secondary breast cancer
By Tilly O'Brien 21st Jul 2026
A gym manager from Kingston is using the pageant platform to raise awareness of secondary breast cancer.
Louise Kingman is currently collecting donated bras at the Gym Group Kingston, where she is manager, to donate to Against breast cancer charity.
The donations from the bras will help fund research for stage 4 breast cancer and this helps to reduce the textile landfill.
Any bras the charity cannot sell will be recycled as it has specialist partners who can recycle them into useful things like car stuffing.
Speaking about raising awareness, Kingman told Nub News: "My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2018 and I have made it my mission to spread awareness to prevent and detect it early.
"I have also run a charity event for Coppafeel and raised £1000.
I am using my platform as Mrs Earth Middlesex 2026 to raise awareness so that women can be empowered to have the knowledge on breast cancer, and this bra bank mission promotes sustainability.
"The Mrs Earth UK pageant is on 30 August in Beam, Hertford."
