King Charles III is visiting New Malden tomorrow (8 November) to spend time with the area's Korean community.
The news comes after His Majesty's state opening of parliament speech, and ahead of the state visit by the President of the Republic of Korea and the First Lady later this month.
New Malden is known as London's Koreatown as it's home to the largest population of Koreans in Europe, most of whom are South Koreans with a significant minority of North Koreans.
Koreans were originally drawn to the area around the 1970s after the South Korean embassy moved nearby, along with Samsung's European headquarters.
Royal reports state: "The King will meet the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the UK, His Excellency Yeocheol Yoon, as well as local council representatives including the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston."
His Majesty will also meet community, cultural, culinary and faith groups based in New Malden and the surrounds.
These include Korean Residents Society, the Korean Restaurant and Supermarkets Association and local faith leaders.
The King will then view an exhibition on the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. 'The Ties Through Time' presentation is organised by the Korean British Cultural Exchange in collaboration with Kingston Museum.
Residents can see the exhibition for themselves at FUSEBOX from 9 November to 22 November.
His Majesty is also set to meet a group of residents representing the diversity of communities living in New Malden.
The Royal Report states: "The King will also watch a contemporary dance performance and listen to the local London Korean Hummingbirds Choir sing a traditional song 'Beautiful Country'."
At New Malden Methodist Church, the King will hear about Korea's culture and cuisine, before visiting a stall showcasing a selection of Korean specialities.
His Majesty will also visit the nearby Cake & Bing Soo Shop to meet young Koreans, and be presented with a special cake by the owner.
It adds: "Before departing, ahead of Remembrance Day, the King will visit the New Malden War Memorial and meet members of the local Royal British Legion branch."
Residents are told to be wary of road closures Wednesday 8 November as the King visits the borough.
