GALLERY: Stunning blooms on display at Hampton Court Palace tulip festival
Stunning blooms are on display at Hampton Court Palace as part of its first ever tulip festival.
Local resident Izabella Hajnal captured these photos of the incredible array of flowers on her visit to the palace yesterday.
Gardeners at the palace planted 100,000 bulbs last autumn to prepare for the inaugural festival which runs until May 3 this spring.
Visitors to the palace have the chance to see rare and historical tulips from the Dutch Hortus Bulborum in the Lower Orangery alongside handmade replicas of Mary II's tulip vases.
And the palace's formal gardens are filled with colourful varieties of the blooms.
With warmer weather forecast for next week, visitors will have the chance to see the flowers blooming in glorious sunshine.
Tickets are included in palace admission (members go free) and a guide to the festival will be available for visitors at the palace.
Please note that the palace and gardens are closed today as a mark of respect for HRH Prince Philip.
