Kingston Council has approved plans to convert a former day nursery and dance studio on Surbiton's Ewell Road into flats.

The application, which was submitted by a Mr R Patel, seeks the "demolition of existing dance studio and erection of a three-storey building housing 9nos 3-bed flats with associated bins and cycle provision".

The proposals also include the "Formation of drop kerb to provide 6 parking space (Landscape reserve matter) to change siting of ground floor balcony to flat-3 and removal of side windows for flats 3,6 and 9".

As the application was originally submitted in May 2023 and was "granted prior approval", the applicant has since made various adaptations to the application proposals in order to be granted council permission and to begin work to the site.

Work on the site has already begun.
