Specialist provision school in Kingston celebrates first ever A-Level results and university entrants

A local specialist provision is celebrating its first-ever university entrants after A-level results were announced today (Thursday, 14 August).
Malden Oaks was set up three years ago as a unique type of sixth form. It is for students aged 16 to 19 who are on an academic pathway, but who need a smaller environment, staffed by teachers who are specialists in emotional health.
The provision is in huge demand, with numbers rising from eight to 80 in just three years.
Three Malden Oaks students have passed their A-Levels and will go to University in September, being the first Malden Oaks students to do so.
Student Phoebe Fulford-Brown was delighted to pass A Levels in Drama, English Literature, and Sociology to enable her to attend Chichester University to study Medieval and Early Modern History.
"I could not have done it without Malden Oaks," she said.

Speaking about today's results, Headteacher, Samantha Axbey, said: "These students' wonderful results are clear evidence that we should not put a limit on what individual young people can achieve.
"With the right support and a tailored curriculum, all students can experience success."
