Fire Fighters called to Thames Ditton vaccine centre

Fire fighters have been called an incident in Thames Ditton.

The vaccine centre in the area caught ablaze earlier this afternoon.

Six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform have been called into the area.

Surrey Fire Service said: "We were called to a fire at the Vaccination Hub in Emerbrook Community Centre, #ThamesDutton at 3.33pm today. 6 fire engines and the aerial ladder platform are in attendance. Everyone self evacuated & the fire is currently confined to the roof.

"Our first fire engine was in attendance in just over 4 minutes. Our emergency team are working with @surrey_lrf regarding the impact on the vaccination hub."

One eyewitness Tweeted: "Power went out, and everyone smelt burning. Everyone was safely evacuated, and the fridge full of vaccines was saved."
