The White House Nursing Home (TWHNH) in New Malden has once again been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its latest inspection in February, reinforcing its position as one of the highest-performing care homes in the region.

The CQC report highlights TWHNH has increased its Outstanding ratings from two to four across the five key assessment categories—Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-Led—while maintaining a Good rating in Safe.

This achievement reflects its consistently high-quality care and strong leadership and places TWHNH in a leading position among Surrey and London care homes.

Inspectors praised the home's strong person-centred approach, recognising how residents are supported to live fulfilling lives through meaningful activities, compassionate care and a warm, inclusive environment.

The report also highlighted a positive culture within the home, strong leadership, and excellent feedback from residents, families and professionals.

Catriona Eglinton, Deputy Director of Adult Social Care in South London at the CQC, said: "What stood out most was the depth of understanding staff had for each person.

"They knew people's histories, preferences and routines, and used this knowledge to provide care that was truly personalised and respectful.

"All of the staff at The White House Nursing Home should be really proud of the exceptional care they delivered.

"Other services should look at this report as an example of outstanding practice, to promote improvements across the sector and to support people to lead their best lives."

Rahim Nurmohamed, Co-Director at TWHNH, added: "This fantastic rating reflects the passion, continuous drive to improve and commitment of our entire team over many years.

"To achieve a quadruple outstanding rating is truly unique and we are grateful to the current and previous staff teams.

"We are also thankful to the CQC inspectors who recognised the work we do and giving us the opportunity to evidence our ethos (passionate about care) and culture of providing life enhancing, person centred care every day."

Ajitha, Registered Manager at TWHNH, said: "This isn't just an achievement, it represents years of consistent hard work, compassion and unwavering dedication.

"It reflects the person-centred care at the heart of everything we do and shows care homes like ours can be places where people continue to live meaningful lives with dignity and purpose."

The quality of care at TWHNH is also reflected in feedback from families.

S, the son of a former resident said: "Mum was so happy with you at The White House. I could see quickly why you had an outstanding rating. We could not have wished for mum to be anywhere else; coupled with the virtual ward element, it was simply world-class."

J, Daughter of a Former Resident added: "Although my dad was only with you for two weeks, the compassion and care was outstanding.

"He was smiling, laughing and even mentioned my mum, who was with you the year before. He was at peace and I can't thank you enough for taking care of him."

J, Husband of a Former Resident said: "You have all been wonderful; you all looked after my wife with such love and care and effectively became her extended family.

"Your love and care were indeed as the CQC said "Outstanding" and I saw that when I first came to look for a good nursing home, which was even before you were awarded that high accolade."

TWHNH provides nursing and personal care for up to 36 residents, specialising in dementia care, supporting individuals with mental health needs, sensory impairments and physical disabilities.

The home also offers respite care, complex care and is GSF (Gold Standard Framework) accredited for its End-of-Life Care.
