Kingston Borough Council and Property Advice Service are holding a free webinar on business rates on Thursday morning, 21 March.

The event's organisers hope it will be useful to Kingston's commercial property tenants and property managers alike.

Those who attend will have the opportunity to ask experts questions on the tricky topics of leases and business rates and rates relief, whether they struggle with negotiating leases, understanding business rates, or are just eager to learn more.

Experts will provide up-to-date advice for all kinds of commercial properties, such as theatres, gyms, cafes, pubs, private schools, co-working spaces, medical centres, places of worship, retailers and funeral directors.

Deryck Sealy is the co-founder and director of London Business Partnership which runs Property Advice Service.

He said: "We recognise the challenges faced by local [small businesses] when it comes to Business Rates."

Mr Sealy says the not-for-profit London Business Partnership created the Property Advice Service to support "the economic backbone of London".

"Our advisors will guide business owners through topics including the different business rate schemes and how to save on business rates," said Mr Sealy.

Those who sign up will be registered for the webinar and the broader Property Advice Service, gaining access to other free events and information.

The webinar will run from 10am to 11am on Thursday 21 March, with sign-ups available here.
