Author and television icon Clare Balding will be visiting Kingston later this week to launch her new children's book, 'Animal All-Stars: Incredible Facts, Stats and Stories from the Animal Kingdom'.

The launch will be commemorated with a signing event held at Waterstones Kingston this Thursday 14 March, running from 4pm to 6pm.

Animal All-Stars aims to wow the reader with facts about the animal kingdom's record-breakers.

Along with Ms. Balding's writing is a number of illustrations by The Boy Fitz Hammond, which the blurb describes as "rib-tickling".

"Putting a sporting slant on the incredible capabilities of the animal kingdom, Animal All-Stars is a hugely entertaining book," says Waterstones Kingston's manager Natalya Chapman.

"Filled with facts, stats and trivia about tiger beetles, falcons, gorillas and more, this is a must-read for kids who love animals and sport."

The organisers have recently announced that the event is not tickets, with more information available here.
